Project Title

Holiday Motion Greeter

Abstract

This project will manifest an integration system on which artificial intelligence will supply the behavior of a human as he/she or it moves along a path. The path will be target with a motion and distance sensor and upon detection, it will posted a greeting on a screen.

Objectives & Introduction

The purpose of this project is to create a device that will recognize the existence of an UN-imaginary object in the current dimension. After an object has been detected, the device will measure the distance between it and the object. Depending on the distance, a holiday message will be shown to the approaching subject.

Objectives: 1. Purchased Devices 2. Design Power Control Unit 3. Analyze Data Sheets 4. Pin Configuration 5. Servo Alignment 6. Motion and Distance sensor activation 7. LCD and LED displays initiation 8. Sensors interface 9. Successful outcome display on LCD and LED devices

Team Members & Responsibilities

Moises Quintero

Schedule

In order to accomplish this task, a schedule of several days shall be designed for the user to be able to observe the major developments of the device under construction. Parts to be used shall be mentioned in the following section, from their cost their name and manufacturers for users if they might want to buy them. It should be noted that the purchased items are not being advertised.

Week# Start Date End Date Task Actual
1 4/6 4/12 Figure out which sensors and other devices would be needed Devices were order and currently waiting for arrival.
2 4/13 4/19 Analyzing data sheets and configuration with lpc board. Work on design methodology. We figure out which drivers we needed to use for each device.
3 4/20 4/26 Work on servo and distance sensor Servo was able to rotate but needed to be configure to stop at a specific angle. Distance sensor returns distance of moving objects.
4 4/27 5/3 Analyze chip maker of LCD screen and analyze pin configuration.
5 5/4 5/10 Attached configure parts to skeleton and have either LED mux or LCD screen display anything.
6 5/11 5/17 Created interface between all sensors.
7 5/18 5/24 Testing and debugging.
8 5/25 5/25 Presentation.

Parts List & Cost

Give a simple list of the cost of your project broken down by components. Do not write long stories here.

Design & Implementation

The design section can go over your hardware and software design. Organize this section using sub-sections that go over your design and implementation.

Hardware Design

Discuss your hardware design here. Show detailed schematics, and the interface here.

Hardware Interface

In this section, you can describe how your hardware communicates, such as which BUSes used. You can discuss your driver implementation here, such that the Software Design section is isolated to talk about high level workings rather than inner working of your project.

Software Design

Show your software design. For example, if you are designing an MP3 Player, show the tasks that you are using, and what they are doing at a high level. Do not show the details of the code. For example, do not show exact code, but you may show psuedocode and fragments of code. Keep in mind that you are showing DESIGN of your software, not the inner workings of it.

Implementation

This section includes implementation, but again, not the details, just the high level. For example, you can list the steps it takes to communicate over a sensor, or the steps needed to write a page of memory onto SPI Flash. You can include sub-sections for each of your component implementation.

Testing & Technical Challenges

Describe the challenges of your project. What advise would you give yourself or someone else if your project can be started from scratch again? Make a smooth transition to testing section and described what it took to test your project.

Include sub-sections that list out a problem and solution, such as:

My Issue #1

Discuss the issue and resolution.

Conclusion

Conclude your project here. You can recap your testing and problems. You should address the "so what" part here to indicate what you ultimately learnt from this project. How has this project increased your knowledge?

Project Video

Upload a video of your project and post the link here.
